At Valley Forge United Methodist Church, we have a longstanding relationship with Christian Service International (CSI) an organization which staffs an orphanage, medical clinic, mission house, and which is now helping to build a church for the people of Couix des Bouquets, which is a town close to Port-au-Prince, Haiti. For more than ten years, members of our congregation have traveled to Haiti on annual mission trips and have helped to build the orphanage, the clinic and the mission house. The orphanage is home to 20 young Haitian girls. Although these buildings have suffered extensive damage in the devastating earthquake of January 12, we are happy to report that the girls are all safe, as is the CSI staff and native Haitians caring for them. However, many Haitians have lost loved ones, suffered injury, or lost property and possessions in this tragedy.
We are praying for all of our brothers and sisters in Haiti. CSI staff are not only caring for the girls in the orphanage, but they are rendering medical services wherever they can to help bring recovery, food, water, and comfort to Haitians who come to the clinic needing help. Valley Forge United Methodist Church will be making its contribution to the relief efforts in Haiti through CSI Ministries, Inc. If you wish to contribute to the relief efforts, please do so directly through CSI at the address below, or make contributes to Valley Forge United Methodist Church, which we will, in turn, forward to CSI Ministries, Inc.
